Michelle Dorrance
Michelle Dorrance formally trained at the Ballet School of Chapel Hill, founded by her mother in North Carolina. Many of Dorrance's first professional performances occured when she was a teenager, with the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble at major international tap dance festivals as well as performing solo with swing-revival icons, the Squirrel Nut Zippers when she was 16.
Dorrance has been on faculty at Broadyway Dance Center in Manhatten since 2002, while teaching periodically at Steps on Broadway and Peridance Center in New York, and is also on faculty at Nicholas Van Young's Institute for the Rhythmic Arts.
She is also currently the artistic director of Dorrance Dance, which was founded by Dorrance around 2010/2011.
